The time has come to dive in to the 2017 offensive lineman. Another great year for prospects in Mississippi with the top 5 already committed to big-time programs but that’s not where the talents stops. Another interesting tidbit is all the private school OL at the top of the lists.
The LSU commit also has 10 other offers including MSU. Plays OL and DL but his future is on the interior OL. The tape shows great athleticism for a guy that size. Really light on his feet. Not many OG prospects are also soccer players. If we’re talking strictly ceiling, there may not be a higher ceiling in MS regardless of position.
The Ole Miss commit also holds offers from MSU, Bama, and UT among others. Another big body that moves very well. A lot of his highlights are him pulling and you really get to see the feet and athletic ability. Does a good job of locking on to a block and staying with it.
The MSU commit also has 6 other offers in tow. The first thing that jumps of the tape is a mean streak. He locks on to a target and blocks it until he buries the defender. Moves really well getting to blocks on the 2nd level with ease. He has tackle feet but projects to the inside. Really like his upside after some time in a college weight program.
The Ole Miss commit and legacy also has 5 other offers including Mizzou and Vandy. Probably the most polished OL in this class. Plays the position like a technician. Love his length and build. He will be able to hold a bunch of weight in a college weight program. I think his future is on the inside.
Committed to ULM with 7 other offers to his credit. Plays OT now but his future is as a road grater on the interior. Shows great strength with the best punch in this class. Once he gets locked on, the pancake is coming. Plays with a real junkyard dog mentality that you like with your OL.
Already 6 offers including MSU, USM, and Memphis. Great size and length. Has good quickness and feet for his size. Moves very well. Also shows some aggressiveness that cannot be coached. Either have it or you don’t. He’s a bit of a developmental guy but his ceiling is very high.
Committed to Tulane and has 3 other offers to boot. The first thing that jumps out is elite length. He’s a project since he’ll need to put on some weight but the sky is the limit for him physically after a few years in Tulane’s weight room. Love his feet and athletic ability. Big upside here.
3 early offers from MSU, Arkansas State, and JSU. Big kid with a lot of strength. If he gets his hands on you, you’re going down. Great punch. He has the length and punch to be a RT but I’m not sure he has the feet right now. He’s a kid that someone will take and get either a massive inside guy or he could flourish in a college weight program and develop into a starting OT.
No offers at this point but that should change. Love his size, frame, and potential to fill out. Good feet and plays with that mean streak you can’t teach. Watching his film it looks like he loves football. He looks like he has the tools to be a tackle at the next level which gives him a bump in value.
No offers yet but I expect that to change this fall. He’s a true center prospect. Playing at Oxford gives him the advantage of being in a college-like system where he’s used to snapping both under center and shotgun. Not only is he a good interior blocker, he’s a pretty good athlete too getting on blocks on the 2nd level.
Really good-looking big man who plays OT but I see him as an inside guy. He’s another guy who I like his size and frame and the potential of what it could be in a college weight program. He’s raw right now but he has the tools. I think his best football is ahead of him.
#12- Rodrecuz Roach 6’3 340 Senatobia highlights
Another big body that looks suited to play on the inside in college. He could trim down a bit but don’t mistake that for lazy play. Kid is a hustler who really gets after it. I like his tenacity and motor. He really enjoys finishing the blocks with a big ole pancake.
Big body that looks pretty light on his feet. Not a ton of film but what is out there, he looks pretty raw. Can play on the OL or DL. Has the tools to be an inside OL in college that need to be realized in his senior season.
From a physical standpoint, he’s a good looking kid. Tall and long that could could really grow in time. Light on his feet and seems to know his assignments and techniques. A lot of upside.
